Company History
Pro Auction USA was founded in 1991 by Tom Terwilliger and Carl Lemon in Fort Dodge, Iowa after
Tom graduated from Missouri Auction School. The company was based in Fort Dodge until 1993
when it closed the Fort Dodge location and moved to LuVerne, Iowa. Carl dropped out of the
business at this time and Tom took complete control of Pro Auction USA.
Tom became a certifiled personal property appraiser in 1996 and added appraisl services to Pro
Auction USA. Appraisal services include industrial equipment, farm machinery, antiques and more.
Pro Auction USA serves various clients including accountants, attorneys, banks and private
individuals.
Today Pro Auction USA is a complete full service auction and appraisal business providing services
to our customers and clients in northern Iowa and Minnesota. If you need auction or appraisal

Tom founded Pro Auction
USA in 1991
Tom Terwilliger
grew up as an
Army brat and
graduated from
Humboldt High
School in 1977.
He graduated from Iowa
Central Community College in
1988 with a degree in
Broadcasting and went to work
in radio. There he met Carl
“Big Red” Lemon, Jr. and they
founded Pro Auction USA in
1991 after Tom graduated from
Missouri Auction School. Tom
became a Certified Personal
Property Appraiser in 1996
after completing the
certification program from the
Certified Appraisers Guild of
America. In 1997 Tom got his
real estate sales associate
license in Iowa and in 2000 he
became a Broker Associate.
Tom’s real estate license is
with Landmark Realty in
Algona, Iowa. Tom became a
Certified Real Property
Appraiser in Iowa in 2001 and
is a Certified General Appraiser
with Appraisal Associates of
Algona.
