PRO AUCTION USA - Past, present and future

Our Past - PRO AUCTION USA was started in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1991 by Col. Tom Terwilliger and Carl Lemon Jr.  Tom Terwilliger graduated from Missouri Auction School, Kansas City, MO in August 1991.  Upon returning to Fort Dodge Tom and Carl formed Terwilliger Auction Company.   In 1993 Carl Lemon left the auction business and the Fort Dodge area.  Tom Terwilliger moved to Algona where he re-established the company.  In 1995 Carl Lemon had returned to Fort Dodge and re-established the Fort Dodge office.  In 1996 Tom Terwilliger became a certified personal property appraiser and added appraisal services to the services provided by the company.  In 1996 the name of the business was changed to Pro Auction Company, Carl Lemon left the auction business and Col. Terwilliger assumed complete ownership and control.   In early 1997 Pro Auction Company launched its website and the name of the company was changed to PRO AUCTION USA to correspond with the companies website address.  In 1998 Col. Terwilliger became a licensed real estate sales agent in Iowa and began working at CENTURY 21 Landmark Realty in Algona, Iowa.  In 2000 Col. Terwilliger became a Broker Associate with CENTURY 21 Landmark Realty.  In October 2000 Col. Terwilliger began training as a real property appraiser.  Col. Terwilliger is now a Certified General Real Property Appraiser in the state of Iowa and Minnesota.  Col. Terwilliger is able to provide auction and real estate services and appraisal services either through PRO AUCTION USA, Appraisal Associates of Algona, or Landmark Realty (in 2004 Landmark Realty dropped the Century 21 Franchise) depending on the type of service needed. 

Our Future - PRO AUCTION USA is in the process of establishing an auction house to hold consignment and specialty auctions as well as a place to conduct estate and other types of auctions during winter months or other occasions where an indoor facility is needed.  We also plan on adding computerized clerking and internet bidding in the future as this becomes possible and feasible.  We are currently exploring these technologies and will move on this when the best ones are decided upon.

Our Present - Today PRO AUCTION USA - Col. Tom Terwilliger and Associates is a full service on-site auction and appraisal company.  We do auctions of estates, antiques, business and commercial, farm machinery and real estate.  We provide appraisals of real and personal property for our clients for purposes such as mortgage lending, divorce, IRS, tax appeals, court cases, gift tax and personal needs.  Our clients include estates, banks, insurance companies, lawyers, private companies and private individuals
